Victory, victory...how sweet it is!
Coco Gauff, 19, defeated Aryna Sabalenka 2-6-6 at the 2023 US Open, capturing her first career major title in tennis. Gauff becomes the youngest player since Serena Williams to win at the US Open.
Fittingly enough, Gauff wins her first at the US Open on the anniversary of Arthur Ashe's first win...at the US Open, in 1968. The stadium would later be name in Ashe's honor today known as "Arthur Ashe Stadium."
